Whenever any mishappening occurs or an important policy decision has to be taken, Government institutes a commission of enquiry or forms a committee to look into the policy matter. So far several several commission of enquiry have been instituted by Government such as to enquire into the assasination of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhior to probe into the mysterious disppearance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Boseor killing of sikhs in the riots of 1984 or Godhra violence of 2002 and from time to time various committees have been constituted to to look into the reforms of Civil services, Banking, Small scale industry, insurancy, Public sector etc. Some of them have become renownend because of their bold recommendations and some are important as they are current in nature.
