Social welfare is the prime responsibility of Government and as such from time to time Government launches various programmes for social welfare. These programs are aimed at different segments of the society. These are Concerned with Housing and shelter, wage employment, Education of womenm Empowerment of women, promotion of small savings, promotion o fentrepreneurship among urban youth, providing agricultural credit to small and marginal farmers etc. The names of a few such schemes are Jawahar Rozgar Yojna, Indira Awas Yojna, Indira mahila yojana, Prime Minister's Rozgar Yojna, Integrated Rural Development Programme, Gram sadak Yojna etc. You must be aware of the specific purpose of each programme and the entitlement to avail the benefits of these programmes.
